This event is a discussion between artists Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero of Luftwerk, alongside designers Renata Graw and Lucas Reif of Normal. The two studios will discuss how to capture the spirit of an exhibition in a book, the challenges of adapting immersive experience into a compressed form, and the possibilities opened up by these translations.
Cellists and interdisciplinary artists Lia Kohl and Katinka Kleijn will create a live, sound-based response to Luftwerk’s Exhibition, Exact Dutch Yellow. Longtime collaborators, their shared practice explores vulnerability and resilience through the cello as an object, a body, and a sound-making tool.
Dr. John Kyndt (Associate Professor of Microbiology, Nutrition, and Sustainability and Program Director of Sustainability Management) and Professor David Joel Thomas (Assistant Professor and Program Director of Creative Arts) invited us for an Artist Residency, as part of an ongoing Art + Science collaboration that began in July 2021 at Bellevue University with our studio.

A series of sculptural light installations using botanical pigments and dynamic, changing light conditions that transform Exhibit Hall into abstracted, atmospheric chromatic experiences.
Fosdick Nelson Gallery, Alfred, NY
The cycle between light and dark, day and night, reveals a daily spectacle of color which has long-inspired scientists and artists, brining forth a canon of theories about color and perception. Frequency/Chronology is a series of mixed media installations that explore those theories to create an immersive dialogue on color.
